The first college-age group to travel with Buckner to Honduras is currently serving in orphanages in San Pedro Sula.
The 15 students are from East Texas Baptist University and are working in homes for sexually abused girls and homes for HIV parents.
“The ETBU students travel outside the city each day to the orphanages and spend a lot of time engendering relationships and love,” said Dr. Dane Fowlkes, director of major gifts for ETBU. “The type of service the group is doing is holding Vacation Bible Schools for the residents to attend.
The ETBU group is staying in a local church and is scheduled to return on June 7.
