VRBC Day Tres

Day tres started out with our daily traffic weaving; Seth was very amused.

We made it to the church and started our day of working. The church had hired a contractor to help us put down the tile floor, but our team knew that with Jeff leading us, we didn't need a contractor:

We spent the entire morning working on the floor and made significant progress. Here are some before and where we stopped today pictures:

Even our translators, Eric & Jennifer, were having fun with tile today. They are great and have been great servants to our team (and very patient answering all of my questions about life in Guatemala!)
Everyday that the room we are working on is unfinished, is one more day that 14 kiddos have to spend in a 200 square foot room. Please pray that the room is finished as quickly as possible and for the children's ministry that will go on. I know that God will use this room for his purposes and we will all see His kingdom.

The second half of our day was spent handing out 60 pairs of shoes. For those that have never participated in a feet washing experience, I highly recommend it (but don't take my word for it, take Jesus'). To be able to tell the kids that Jesus loved them enough to send me from Dallas to wash their feet and give them new shoes is a very powerful experience. The look of awe on the kids faces is something I will remember forever.

When the kids first got there, Amy read the passage from John were Jesus gave us our instructions. She explained to the kids the purpose of us washing their feet and how we want to serve them following the example of our Savior.

Lord, thank you for using us in your ministry at Los Pinos. Please lead us in your Spirit. (And thanks for a safe trip back to the hotel in rush hour traffic in Guatemala) (And please be with the people we saw hanging from the side of that bus. )
