After a long talk with the girls last night, we all were hoping and praying that God would give us a peace and fulfilment in our work. Our plans have been completely changed and become his totally. We went into our normal Tuesday not knowing what God had in store for us. Tara was off to the kitchen, Delaney to 3rd grade. Kenda and i were going to the T.EC. center, an area for the women who had struggled in school but still knew that they needed a profession. In the center they are taught to sew beautiful garments, they also have a bible devotion every Wednesday. Kenda and i walked into the center not really knowing what we could do there. Neither of us knowing how to sew anything, we asked God to show us what to do for these women.
As we walked in, we were greeted by about twenty beautiful smiling faces. This was the only spot we had not made it to yet, little to our knowledge they had been waiting. They welcomed us with open arms and asked why we had not come sooner, they were beginning to think we did not like them. We did our best to assure them that, that was not the case at all. We sat and talked to the girls about anything and everything. They were so excited to hear about us and where we had come from. They told us all about themselves and what had brought them here. The young women were so open and honest with us, they could not share enough of their lives. Their teacher asked Kenda and i to join them in prayer as they left for the day. We thought they were just going to close in prayer, but what came out of them was so much more. The instructor led them in a song that came from so deep in her soul. The women joined in the singing, their voices were so loud in that small room, they lifted their voices to God in pleading and thanksgiving. They sang for quite a while and then began to cry out to God through prayer. I can not explain to you what it was like in simple words, what instantly came to mind was Mathew 18:20 "Where two or three are gathered, there i will be with them" God was in the center of that circle of young women. God was there listening to their pleas and their gratitude. Tears were pouring down my face uncontrollably. Last night we had cried out to God for fulfilment and encouragement during this time and he had completely wrapped us in his loving arms and given us, just what we had asked for. After finishing the prayer the instructor told us that the girls had been praying for us and thanking God for bringing us to them.
Praise be to God who knows all and who takes care of his Daughters.
